Patient Highlight: Elaine — "I'm So Happy!"
Elaine from Aiea first heard about Dr. Higa from seeing his television advertising. She had been thinking about doing her upper and lower eyelid surgery for drooping lids earlier and thought, "If anyone is going to do my eyes, it's going to be him (Dr. Higa)."
Before going forward with Dr. Higa, Elaine was particularly concerned about her appearance after the surgery. She did not want to look "spooky". Dr. Higa alleviated her fears by telling her about his speciality in asian eyelid surgery and that he strived to maintain a natural look. By this time, her vision was so impaired with her drooping lids getting in the way of seeing, she decided to go ahead.
Now Elaine is so happy that she can see everyday. No longer are her eyelids getting in the way, she doesn't have to turn her head to the side to see things on her left or right. She also doesn't have neck pain from straining to turn her head anymore. Elaine says, "Everything is so bright!"
