Bullous Disease

This is a condition where the cornea becomes permanently swollen with fluid because of cornea trauma (or injury). This disease is different from Fuchs Disease in that glaucoma, or inflammation after eye surgery, may be the cause of the disease. Treatment options include observation with medications to control swelling. Surgical options include full–thickness corneal transplantation or DSAEK.
